Skin Maker does not require an account and does not operate advertising, behavioral tracking, or analytics services. Skin images and edits are processed locally on your device. You decide when to import or export a file.
Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Griche ("Griche," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Skin Maker mobile application (the "App") and this website (together, the "Services"). Griche is the developer responsible for the Services.
We built Skin Maker as a local-first creative tool. The App lets users create, edit, import, preview, and export 64×64 character skin images. The App does not require registration or a user account, and we do not run a server that receives your skin projects.
Scope
This Policy applies to information handled by the Skin Maker App and information you voluntarily send to Griche for support. It does not govern third-party applications, operating-system services, websites, or platforms that may be used alongside the App. Their own privacy policies apply to their processing.
Skin Maker is an independent application. It is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.
Information we handle
Information processed locally by the App
Depending on the features you choose, the App may process the following information on your device:
- Skin and image files: PNG images that you select, create, edit, preview, or export.
- Creative content: pixel colors, layer content, model type, body-part selections, and editing history needed to provide the editing experience.
- App preferences: settings such as Classic or Slim model defaults, grid visibility, outer-layer visibility, and whether onboarding has been completed.
- Temporary processing data: image data held in memory or temporary storage while importing, editing, previewing, or exporting a skin.
This locally processed content is not transmitted to Griche. The App does not include an account system, advertising SDK, or Griche-operated analytics service.
Information you choose to provide
If you contact us by email, we receive the information included in your message, such as your email address, name if provided, message contents, attachments, device or app details you choose to share, and subsequent correspondence. We use this information only to respond, troubleshoot, maintain the App, prevent abuse, and keep an appropriate support record.
Website technical information
This website is hosted using Firebase Hosting. Like most hosting services, the hosting provider may automatically process limited technical information necessary to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, request date and time, requested URL, browser or device information, and diagnostic or security logs. Griche has not added advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts to this site.
Device permissions
Skin Maker may request or declare the following operating-system permissions. Access occurs only in connection with the related feature and remains subject to the controls provided by your device.
You can review or revoke permissions at any time in your device settings. Some import or export features may not work if the permission needed for that feature is denied.
How information is used
Information processed through the Services is used only as reasonably necessary to:
- provide the skin creation, editing, preview, import, and export features you request;
- remember App preferences on your device;
- respond to support inquiries and diagnose reported problems;
- maintain the reliability, safety, and integrity of the Services;
- comply with applicable law and enforce legal rights when necessary.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for cross-app tracking, targeted advertising, profiling, or automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Retention and deletion
Skin projects and preferences stored by the App remain on your device until you overwrite or delete them, clear the App's data where supported, or uninstall the App. Images exported to Photos, Files, cloud storage, another app, or another service must be deleted from that destination separately.
Support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain a record of the issue, improve the App, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. When no longer needed, they may be deleted or anonymized.
Security
Skin Maker's local-first design limits transmission of creative content to Griche. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature of information we handle. However, no device, email system, storage method, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, Apple ID, file-storage accounts, backups, and any destination where you export or share a skin.
Children's privacy
Skin Maker is a general-audience creative utility. It does not require an account and Griche does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an App backend. Children should not send personal information by email without permission from a parent or legal guardian.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information directly to Griche, contact us at the address below so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
Your choices and privacy rights
You control which images are selected, what is created, where finished files are exported, and which device permissions are granted. You may revoke permissions through device settings and remove local App data by deleting relevant files or uninstalling the App.
Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights concerning personal information Griche holds about you, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. These rights may be limited by exceptions in applicable law.
Since Griche generally receives no project data, we ordinarily cannot access, recover, correct, or delete content stored only on your device. For information you directly sent to us, submit a request to grichedev32@gmail.com. We may need to verify the request and will respond as required by applicable law. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
International use
The Services may be available in multiple countries. Information sent by email or processed by hosting and infrastructure providers may be handled in countries other than your own, where privacy laws may differ. Where legally required, appropriate safeguards will be used for relevant transfers.
Third-party platforms and services
The App relies on operating-system and software components for functions such as photo selection, file selection, saving images, and local preferences. If you choose to export to or interact with Apple Photos, Files, iCloud, email, a game, or another third-party service, that provider processes information under its own privacy policy and terms.
The Services may mention compatibility with third-party products. Such references do not imply sponsorship or endorsement. Griche is not responsible for third-party privacy, security, availability, or content.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to the App, legal requirements, or our practices. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how personal information is handled, we will provide additional notice where reasonably appropriate or legally required.
